Works Great, Very Quiet
The 8 liter humidifier was well packaged and arrived on time only 14 hours after I ordered it. The unit is attractive, easy to set up and synched with my WiFi immediately. Three key features prompted me to buy two of these humidifiers, WiFi control, large water capacity and UV Sterilization. All features are working well and the iPhone app is adequate for operation and status. The unit is basically silent, perfect for bedrooms. It raised the humidity in my 20’ by 20’ bedroom from 24% to 40% (perfect for me) within one evening. Previously I was using smaller ultrasonic humidifiers but they had to be filled several times a day which led to them not performing at their best. The 8 liter capacity lasts close to 40 hours, 36 to be precise, at max flow. With one in my living room and one in my master bedroom the overall household humidity, measured by my Nest thermostat, rose from 24% to 30% in my 1,700 sq ft house. While 6% may not seem like much the difference is quite noticeable in overall comfort. I would recommend this humidifier without reservation. I have several Tuya WiFi components I have used for several projects. I’m impressed with their performance in connecting and staying connected to my WiFi system. Also in ease of setup.** Update **After several days of operation the two units have raised the indoor humidity throughout the entire house to an average of 38%. Going into the mid 40s for the master bedroom.** Update **After several weeks I’ve lowered the spray rate to 1 in my MBR. The humidifier is keeping my MBR at 40% humidity. The humidifier in the living area is maintaining 35% in the living, dining and kitchen area running at spray level 3. Overall the house humidity is 38-40% depending on the amount of time the furnace is running.

Large tank, decent price, overall works well
I wanted a humidifier that I could fill up and forget about, mostly because the one I had previously had a tank that I had to fill three times a day.This humidifier is easy to fill and holds a lot of water. The app (yes, everything nowadays has an app for some reason) seems to work well, and I haven’t really interacted with it much as a result.So far there has been minimal to no mold or gross smell coming from the humidifier. I don’t know if the UV light actually kills any bacteria though.I live in a relatively large apartment and need this in order to not have dry/cracked hands and lips all the time. It has made my home more comfortable, and for that it gets five stars!

Very effective for small to medium room
This review is for the “Honovos” Smart Humidifier, 2.11Gal(8L) Quiet Top Fill Cool Mist Humidifier, Smart App & Remote Control, 3 Speed Humidifier with 360° Nozzle.I highly recommend this humidifier for anyone needing to make the air more comfortable in a small to medium room.Just know that the smart features are only accessible via their phone app. These are not compatible with voice control smart home systems. There is also a remote. Personally, I turned the unit on in late fall, set the humidity level, and never needed to touch it for 6 months other than to fill it. If it runs empty, you need to turn it back on and reset the humidity level after filling it, but you must physically be at the unit to fill it. I have the app set up, but have never needed to use it — or the remote.I have not tried it in a large room because my next size up is about 20′ x 35′ and also opens to the kitchen and the staircase to the 2nd floor. I wouldn’t bother trying to use a unit this small in that large of a space. That’s simply not a fair fight lol. It might do the job, but would probably need to run non-stop 24/7 and I’d need to refill it twice a day. I use a larger unit for the main part of the house.I ran this humidifier from November to early May in Massachusetts where the winters are extremely dry. My heat is also forced hot air which completely dries out any humidity that would naturally be in the the air. As a result, I not only need humidity added to the air, but there must be enough volume to humidify the air being sucked into the heating system and exchanged with dry air.I’m using in a 15′ x 15′ bedroom and it does a beautiful job without running constantly. The humidifier this one replaced could run 24 hours a day without maintaining the 55% level I am always aiming for.This humidifier is surprisingly effective! It’s also very quiet considering the substantial output.There has been a $20 coupon which brings the price down to $80. That is a great price for such a great humidifier.In addition to this 2-gallon unit, I also have the Honovos 5-gallon version for the main part of the house. I learned some basic things about their design with the larger unit, which helped me appreciate this unit.Reading through some of the negative reviews, it seems that some people experienced a fairly simple issue, or made a mistake, and then returned it or stopped using it (or kept using it without updating their review).DOES IT LEAK?THAT’S UP TO YOU!The first mistake I made: Continuing to fill the unit after reaching the max fill line. With the top off, there was more room in the tank above that line, so after putting the top back on, I figured, “If I add more, it will run longer without needing to fill it.” Well, it leaked and made a huge mess! I did this twice! The first time, I misjudged the extra space and overflowed the tank. The next time I did not fill it enough to overflow the tank but it still leaked! It took me a couple minutes to figure out where the water was coming from because the water coming down the sides in a very similar way to when I overflowed the tank. What I didn’t realize the first time is that after the initial overflow of water falls over the edge, the water continues to leak out of the carry handles on the sides. I thought it was running into the handles from the water flowing over the top. That second time when the tank wasn’t filled enough to overflow the top, I needed to look closer. It turns out the inset handles are not molded into the tank, but rather a separate piece inserted into the tank. Since those handles are not sealed to be water tight, filling it higher than the handles will cause it to leak. It’s not a drip, but a fairly steady flow until the water level drains below the handles.DOES IT ACCURATELY MAINTAIN THE SET HUMIDITY LEVEL?IF YOU DON’T OVER FILL THE TANK AND YOU KEEP WATER IN THE TANK.If you overflow the tank, it will most likely get the sensor on the cord wet. It you wet the sensor, it thinks there is a lot of moisture in the air. It won’t properly register the humidity in the air until the sensor is completely dry.Obviously, if you let the tank empty, it shuts off and won’t humidify the air.If you let it shut down, when you fill it and turn it back on, you must set the preferred humidity level again. If you have a power outage, the same is true.If you set the preferred humidity level and always keep enough water in the tank to keep it running, it will maintain the set level within 5%. Once the level is reached, it won’t kick back on until it drops to 5% below that level. This is by design.DOES IT LEAVE A WHITE, POWDERY RESIDUE?OF COURSE! ALL COOL MIST HUMIDIERS DO.If you use water that is not distilled in ANY cool mist humidifier, your going to have a white residue caused by the minerals (mostly calcium) in the water being turned into a mist that spreads through the room. The amount of residue is based on the amount of minerals in your water and the amount of output your humififier produces.The only way to avoid this with a cool mist humidifier is by using distilled water.When you get a high-volume humidifier that produces a lot more mist, that is going to increase the amount of minerals flowing on and near the ground (cool mist sinks). This is not the fault of the humidifier; it’s the fault of the water.Personally, I can’t (won’t) afford to purchase 6 gallons of distilled water per day (total thought all humidifiers in my home), so I deal with the white, powdery residue on the lower portion of some furniture in the direct path of the mist. I position the humidifiers output to move through the clearest path in the room which allows more chance for the most to disperse before touching furniture. Then every couple weeks I clean off the visable residue by lightly wiping it with a damp cloth. Quick and easy to remove and it’s only visible on dark surfaces.Besides using distilled water, you could opt for a either a steam humidifier which harbors bacteria and puts that in your air, or the type that has a wet filter that air blows through. Those get moldy and also harbor bacteria. The filter also needs to be replaced regularly which adds an ongoing expense. If you don’t like dry air, you need to pick your poison. The safest option is cool mist and if you don’t want to stockpile distilled water, the mineral residue easily wiped up, causes no damage, and is heavier than air so it doesn’t float around. Again, most people have never noticed it with other humidifiers because they didn’t have great output. There would still be a residue, but they probably never attributed that to the humidifier. With this kind of extreme output, it becomes obvious much quicker, so it’s easier to make a link to that environmental change. It’s well worth the comfort and reduced sore throats, sinus infections, chapped lips, and dry skin.DOES THE TANK GET MOLDY?ONLY IF YOU DON’T KEEP THE UV LIGHT FOR THE TANK TURNED ON.It says the unit is “self cleaning” but that is only because it has a UV light to prevent bacteria and mold from forming in the tank. I ran the unit for over 6 months straight and there was not a single trace of mold. Use the UV light or you’re simply letting something remain wet or leaving stagnant water sit for extended periods. Of course mold will develop without intervention. If you leave water in the tank while the unit is powered off, that will also mean the UV light is not on. If you’re not actively using it, empty the tank. This should just be common sense.

This humidifier is absolutely what we were looking for. It is so quiet you have to check to make sure it is on. It keeps are rooms very comfortable and wake up feeling refreshed and not stuffy.

Be careful opening the box as I sliced through the user manual that was right under the tape.The humidifier comes in 2 pieces with a remote control. You can fill it by pouring distilled or filtered water straight into the bottom, or open the top hatch and fill it that way.The size of the base is about 21.8 cm x 18.8 cm, the top is 16.7 cm x 13.2 cm, and the full height is 83.5 cm.There is wheatstone inside the small compartment which may rattle around. The beads filter the water but don’t need to be replaced.The AC plug has UL certification but I don’t see any CSA certification on the box, in the manual or on the humidifier itself.Operation & testing:Plug in the power and wait 15 to 20 seconds. Touch on the power button again to turn on the default minimum mist, or touch the power again to turn off. Long-press the power button when the machine is on to shut off the display lights and enter sleep mode. Touch the power button again to turn the light on again.Touch the CUSTOMIZE HUMIDITY button to change the humidity from 40-90% in increments of 5%. 45 to 55% is recommended.Touch the MIST VOLUME button to change the mist amount from low to medium to high.Touch the UV/ NIGHT LIGHT button to turn on or off the UV sterilization function and night light. I found that when it said UV on the screen, the UV light came on inside, and the colours of the night light are visible through the small front window. Turning off the UV turns off both the UV and the night light.Touch the TIMER button to set the timer to shut off after 1-12 hours, in 1 hour increments.The memory function allows the machine to turn on at the previous settings.There is an essential oil tray at the back of the humidifier. Press to open and press in at the bottom to close. Only 2 drops of oil is needed.Opinion:There doesn’t seem to be a way to shut off the “ding” sound when pressing the buttons.The night light changes to different colours but is not bright enough to be noticeable.The keypad is not illuminated so it is necessary to turn on a light to be able to change the buttons.Since the humidifier is so tall but narrow, there is a potential of knocking it over if it is too close to a walkway, especially when it’s low on water.Otherwise, the humidifier works well.
