Works well at consistently good price, dissolves slowly though
I decided this deserves five stars because it’s consistently inexpensive, has a consistently acceptable flavor in coffee, and works consistently well for me. I am a train-spotter of good collagen. It’s the only supplement I use every single day without fail because I have had such extreme improvements in my health and appearance as a result of it. Less joint pain, more energy for a few hours after taking (sometimes I take it before exercise but I’m also more focused on it so it benefits my ADD), somewhat of a appetite suppressant owing to it’s high protein content, better skin, hair stays in my head whereas before collagen, I suffered from alopecia, but also an improvement in vaginal lubrication (there, I said it). I’m a middle-aged woman and this stuff has kept my nethers thrilled or at least not in pain during sex. Nobody talks about this possible positive effect so I feel forced to share… vaginal atrophy (dryness) during perimenopause or actual menopause is caused by a depletion of collagen due to a depletion of hormones so it makes sense that supplementation can help (look into CO2 laser treatments if it doesn’t and you are coping with this).Purely Inspired has one con, which is that it doesn’t dissolve as easily as some others in hot beverages, you have to stir a little longer to break the lumps of powder up BUT it does dissolve with a little effort. The taste is innocuous, I think most people would say taste-free, not gamey or poisonously burnt tasting like some other collagens. I have tried this now I think four times and each time the quality control has been excellent, which can’t be said for other cheapish collagen powder I’ve tried. Some will taste beefier or more burnt than the previous purchase. I guess the companies spend so much on the manufacturing that they can’t afford to toss the spoiled product, but I haven’t experienced this problem with this collagen. A lot of other companies also raise the price after the positive reviews pour in (at the cheaper price). This gets a 5 star review at its cheap price. If it were more expesnive, it would lose maybe even two stars for the dissolving issue and also for not revealing source on packaging or even on Amazon description. The cows are usually from Brazil, even with the expensive collagens but some are from China. Brazil’s farming regulations aren’t that much better (or at all?) than China’s. Let’s not pretend taking this stuff isn’t at the expense of animal welfare and the environment in other ways, but in my case I feel this supplement is a quality of life gamechanger. Try it for at least a a few weeks before giving up on it, I only noticed it working like a couple of weeks in.

Love this stuff!! Its just as good as the expensive brands. My nails are strong & grow like crazy! Blends very well in hot liquids. No lumps. No taste..which is fine by me. No grit!One Scoop Each Day in my morning coffee! I’ve got this brand on back order. Very pleased with its results!

Decent
This collagen does not dissolve as easily as I hoped. Although it is unflavored, I found that there was a taste to eat when added to my coffee. It wasn’t a bad taste, just you can tell that something has been added. I can’t say that I have seen or felt its effectiveness or pain relief but I think overall its a good source of protein and the sodium level is lower than most similar items.

New Look/Disgusting flavor/Formula…
I’ve purchased this product for a few years now enjoying it in my coffee each morning. One day I noticed that in my subscribe & save that the container look was different, 1ounce less product, & the price had been discounted so I purchased two containers @$15. thought I had nice deal. It took me til now since I purchased in January to finally finish my last container of the “ old light blue labeled unflavored product. To my surprise I was literally taken aback at the smell as I opened the container it smelled like a bull,s hide“A**S!! As I scooped & poured the powder into my hot coffee as always do, I noticed that it quickly snaked to the bottom like sand, it used to float until I thoroughly mixed it. But then I took a sip & quickly noticed this nasty offputting smell & taste like an insecticide I used for weeds/I almost wondered was my cup clean, or not. I spit out the coffee & washed my cup & started over again just to have to ruin another cup coffee! I sadly realized that they not only changed to a new look, but they changed the entire formula to a more heavier dense powder that improved its dissolving problem. But there was a “FUNKY DISCUSTING TASTE & SMELL that makes you want to vomit! It’s too late to return don’t think you can anyway, but Iasted over $30. on this disputing mess & now I have to take it out of my subcribe & save. I’ll still order collagen peptides but I don’t want anything else from this company “ Purely Inspired” because this product smell & taste like everything (Crap) but its pure original formula. Yukkkkk!!!!Even when I doll it up with vanilla to cover the smell & taste even still it’s indigestible because I constantly belch up this nasty taste when I force myself to finish the cup! Iuuugghhhh!!!They think that they can deceive their customers by saying “New Look” but not this one, they just lost me as a customer for anything they make! If you haven’t tried the way it used to taste before this change then maybe it won’t bother you, but for those of us who know, beware of this bad tasting product!!!!

Despite of the quality I would not suggest to buy it since it actually change the taste of every single beverage. Not unflavored.
